Locally rare species. Similar to Swamp Gum but with rough bark over most of the tree except the smaller branches (<10cm diameter). Smaller leaves and fruits than swamp gum and buds with distinct pedicel.
There are perhaps 100 trees like this in this large, open paddock, making it a very significant block of land. Unfortunately the block is a horse riding complex so plant variety in the understorey is limited.

Phyllodes narrowly elliptic, lanceolate or oblanceolate, 4–16 cm long, 6–25 mm wide, main veins 3–5, raised, distant. Flower heads, cream to yellow in clusters of 2 to 5.
Seed black, encircled by pink fleshy tissue.
One of the most wide-ranging trees in eastern Australia.

Leaves bipinnate, dark olive green with raised glands irregularly spaced on the mid-rib. Later flowering than similar wattles.
