70mm long by 8mm diam. very shiny, soft, flexible, deep translucent blue, pale yellow dorsal line. Able to extend/contract dramatically. Found under very large log. Requires permanently moist location.
This flatworm was found crawling on a strawberry. It is Parakontikia ventrolineata. If you look closely at the flatworm in these first two photos, you can see one dark stripe, with two paler stripes either side, running along the dorsal surface.
These two flatworms were found inside a cabbage that was picked from our vegetable garden. They would not have been eating the cabbage as they are carnivorous creatures. The cabbage did have evidence of a lot of wildlife, including caterpillars of the Cabbage White butterfly.
