This species is variable. It can be dark grey or lighter grey with black lines. It can also have light brown markings on both forewing and hindwing (see next observation). Largish moth; eight appeared at the light-trap.
Thanks to Martin Lagerwey for ID confirmation. His comments: Mainly Victorian beetle is nocturnal and each observation that I have made was under bark. Light trapping is a good way to encounter one. The color of the eight dots can be red or orange or yellow but otherwise they do not vary much.
