Flowers in Spring (Sep - Oct) - Heavy soils, often rocky, on ridges or slopes in woodland and box-ironbark forest.
This orchid is considered endangered because of the limited sites and few plant numbers. Although the flowers are usually dark red, it does
1-2 basal leaves, narrow ovate to oblong, stiff and erect, 5-10 cm long 1-2 cm wide. Hundreds of flowerless basal leaves observed within an approximate 30m square area. Flowers spent on observed specimen.
