This species is sometimes illustrated in Australia as H. fuscum, The red brick coloured balls are the sexual reproductive stage and the hairy looking star-like clusters nearby are the asexual anamorph stage. See second image for detail on the anamorph.

The tiny pale discs in the first image have not been identified.
