Upside down Whistling Kite, thought it was injured, but was watching me take photos!! Hung upside down for at least 5 minutes from one talon. Another bird circling above. I suspect they were a pair. Interesting behaviour.

  1. David Francis  This sure is very unusual for a raptor to hang upside down for such a long time. I can only surmise that the kite sustained a leg injury and finds it hard to balance when landing on a branch.(Comment from Albert G., a raptor expert)
