One of a noisy flock of 10 Gang-gang Cockatoos feeding on grubs in an Acacia mearnsii. They all looked to be young males with developing red head-feathering. They were quite unfazed by my close presence.
We have been seeing this bird feeding on the small grapes on the vine on our verandah.
It takes fright easily but the shape, size and black-streaks on the white belly give a positive identification.
It flies off quickly with the slightest disturbance before a photo can be taken.
