This one is Cymatoplex sp. 1 from MoV 4 and while the image was taken without a flash you can see the differences in the upper wing from the previous specimen. The original image - also attached - was taken under an incandescent light bulb and the primary image has had some PhotoShop work to try and correct the colour.
This is very close to Cymatoplex sp. 1 listed in Moths of Victoria Part 4 but differs in the markings of the upper portion of the upper wing. It is not known at this stage if this difference is part of the natural variation for this species or if it indicates a different species. Additional images show profile and resting position.
This specimen was collected and in now lodged with the Museum of Victoria collection with the registration number HET-49522
This species has the white line on the costa and russet forewing colouring of C. russata but lacks the darker markings on the posterior margin. It has the two discal spots of C. citrinopa - best seen on the second image - but the wing colour is much darker than normal for that species.
This is an unnamed species of Psychidae which I initially matched to to "undetermined species A" on the Butterfly House site and Cathy then located on Australian Moths Online as "Unplacedtogenus xanthochrysa" - see second image
