One butterfly exhibiting aggressive, territorial behaviour towards other butterflies. Flying between three large flowering Senecio linearifolius linearifolius plants, shooing off all who came near. It never landed and I couldn't get a photo with my phone.
Possibly not formally recorded in Macedon Range since 1920s. Resting on host plant, Gahnia sieberiana (uncommon locally due to habitat loss), growing beside beautiful/rare billabong. Seems to have an extra apical spot on wing upperside (normally 3 spots).
