This collection started with a dead frog observed in a seasonal pool beside the Maribyrnong River. I am happy for others to add reptiles, insects, amphibians, birds and mammals - or to have the fauna split up if the collection gets too large.
Male (left) and female Crested Shrike-tit in suburban garden, Avondale Heights. Appear to be nesting nearby. Male gets aggressive and attacks its image in car side mirrors and windows.
NB male has blacker throat - female olive green.
Found dead in seasonal pool beside Maribyrnong River. ID not 100% guaranteed; back not as warty as usual but eyes also collapsed so may be due to dehydration/decay. Only other possible frog is Golden Bell Grass Frog, which is not found in Melbourne area.
