Note the complex ("tangled") wing venation, particularly the seven or so close parallel veins from the tip of the wing. The Tangle-vein flies are larval parasites of grasshoppers and scarab beetles. Found resting on a Senecio plant on a cool morning in forest near the top of Mount Macedon. (There is a stamen sticking to the right wing)
