On wet, warmish autumn nights we get hundreds of rain moths - 17 on this window pane. Mostly O. dirempta/lyelli but occasional O. antipoda (or australis) and T. atripalpis. Tawny Frogmouths feast on them.

Looks like Trictena atripalpis, but it has a slightly different wing pattern
I always struggle between Trictena atripalpis and Abantiades labyrinthicus.

Thomas - I think this is Trictena atripalpis.
