This beetle is a Diphucrania sp. It feeds on Acacia foliage rather than nectar of flowers. This uncommon species has white spots on a purple elytra. The elytra are finely haired. The head and pronotum is sometimes green, as in this example.
This is a Diphucrania species. A large green jewel beetle on foliage of black wattle. This species feeds on foliage rather than flowers. I saw three today, the other two were not as brightly colored (more green than purple) and might represent a different gender.
