Observed and photographed by Adam Merrick. Published with permission. Exotic large spiny shrub, naturalised on the Hamilton-Digby Road on the Volcanic Plains. Leaves borne in fascicules along the spiny side of branches. Fruit 6-8mm in diameter, bright orange.
Many leaves over an area of approx. 5x5 metres, growing on granitic soils among Leptospermum myrsinoides and a diverse assemblage of herbaceous species. Regionally significant due to current absence of records of this species in the Enfield State Forest and surrounding district.
