The Brisbane Ranges form has leaves with granules confined to the veins on upper surface and broader grooves on undersurface. Found mainly in western and central Victoria. The climate is hot dry summers, cold wet winters, rainfall around 500mm annually.
Flowers in Autumn (Apr - Jun), favours heathland and woodland with heath under-story usually in sandy soil.
This species often grows in large colonies and flowers prolifically only after fire.
This form is very unusual.
