Identifying characters include the spines on the propodeum (rear of central body - mesosoma) and petiole (segment separating abdomen from central body), and the degree of hairiness over body (few hairs on head). The golden abdomen is found on other species and genera. Total length < 10mm. Found on ground among eucalypt litter.
An well-established patch of succulent weed, which has originated from the entrance of a property on the east side of Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Road, and now spread across to the opposite side of the road and into private property. Infestation appears to be contained within a single patch, but has spread to approximately 30m along the roadside.
