  1. David Francis  Great photos - not easy to catch a hovering insect!. Was the bee large and did it buzz loudly? We would be very interested to know the location. Are you able to add it to this observation?

  3. David Francis  Possibly Amegilla (Asaropoda) bombiformis, or similar -a "Teddy-bear Bee". In the same genus as the blue-banded bee but without the blue bands
